40sWalkersNorth

A very friendly walking group based in the North of England

The day seemed to start off normal enough with members arriving to join Sheila and me for a walk around the edges above Dovestones reservoir, that was until Roadkill Lil alias Suzanne told us she had hit a bird on her way to join us at the carpark. Kevin inspected the front of Lil's car only to find a complete Partridge dead behind her radiator grill (see pic)

After Kevin had removed the poor bird and the ladies of the group had discussed the best way to cook it, Roadkill Lil admitted that she had had a good morning running over the odd rabbit or two along with a number of other species of wildlife.
Eventually, we were able to start the walk along side the reservoirs as we made our way up and onto the edges where we were lucky enough to have good views all day, before we returned to the carpark and a pint in the pub.

Sheila and I wish to thank Kevin & Trish, Roadkill Lil (Suzanne), Iain, Can't find my way Kay, Jay & Angela, David, Jayne & Millie (our latest canine member), Gill and Allie for helping to make it another great day out. Those of us who went to the pub it was good to meet up with Irena for drink and a meal before heading back home.

Pete.

We were lucky with the weather, a perfect Autumn day and as usual good company.

Thanks Pete for a great day out - after the unusual start. Great photo on the front page of Jay and Trish on the Trinicles - although if I'd been there earlier it would only have been Jay on the Trinicles!!!!!!

I rather like venison - I wonder if Lil would oblige?

Thanks Pete and Sheila for another great day out, fantastic area and views, certainly do that one again, as always good company.
They certainly don't make volvo's like they used to, good job it wasn't a deer or it would have ended up sat in the front seat!
