Please bring one decoration to dress the hostel.

Christmas Party 2009

We have booked the youth hostel in Dufton for this years Christmas Party. I am sure that those members who have stayed at this hostel will agree, this is one of the best youth hostels available in a great area for walking.

Bookings now being taken.

Cost of the weekend is £38 per person. This is due when a member books his/her place. The booking will be confirmed when your cheque is received, this will be on a first come first served basis* (see note below). For your money you will get 2 nights at the hostel plus a meal on Saturday night which will include wine with the meal, also included will be tea and coffee etc.

We only have 32 places available at the hostel, so don’t hang about if you wish to be there.

Walks. Can we have a couple of volunteers to lead a walk on Saturday and maybe Sunday?

* Sue will email the members who have put their names down strictly in order that the names have been added to the list, she will include the address to which the cheque should be sent and made payable to, “40s Walkers North”. Please send in your cheque to this address as soon as possible.

UPDATE

Secret Santa.

We are asking everyone attending to bring along a walk related gift, wrapped in pretty paper and bows. Gift to cost no more than £10. If you don't wish to join in the Secret Santa please let me know on the night.

Vegetarian requirement.

If you require a vegitarian option would you please let me know by email.

I am really sorry to say I can’t make this weekend I am fighting yet another chest infection!!! I thought walking would keep me fit……..ah….. It’s so frustrating, I am particularly bad when I lie down and would keep you all awake with my coughing. I do hope you all have a great time and I wish you all a merry Christmas!!

YHA Dufton is 6.5 miles from Appleby. Leave the A66 at Appleby the follow signs to Long Marton and Dufton.

From M6 Junction 38 take the B6260 to Appleby, then follow the signs for Dufton.

For those with Sat Nav. the postcode is CA16 6DB.
